About Mike King

Mike King I was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1952. I've been married to Jeanne for 42 years and we have twin daughters, Amanda and Andrea. I've been creating art for over 60 years and I'm always looking for ways to inform and improve my work. I studied oil painting in college and took lessons from noted artist and teacher Bruce Marsh of the University of South Florida, Tampa.

I started an art and picture framing business in 1992 and began selling my work by doing pencil and watercolor portraits. My work was seen by Vietnamese Dr. Phan Trang Damh and he commissioned me to do a watercolor portrait of Prince Norodhom Sihanouk and his wife, Princess Monique. That portrait is hanging in his palace in Cambodia. I was represented by Nuance Galleries, Tampa, for many years.
